Dear Friends,
Our annual Picnic has been a hallmark of Norwood Life Society since our founding in 1896. It has provided a fun day in the sun for Norwood Crossing’s residents and their families, Norwood Seniors Network’s clients and their families, our staff and board members, volunteers and donors. In conjunction with our Picnic tradition, we’ve always offered our friends a way to participate in our nonprofit mission of serving seniors through our annual Honor Roll Appeal. The Honor Roll gives everyone the opportunity to support our seniors and honor a loved one, caregiver, or whomever you choose. This year’s Honor Roll donations will specifically be used to purchase new flooring and therapy equipment for Norwood Crossing’s Wellness Center and outdoor furniture for the courtyard.
The Wellness Center and courtyard are both frequently and heavily used. Every day, our Wellness Center provides up to 75 residents with necessary physical and restorative therapies and rehab. Our courtyard hosts weekly barbeque lunches for both residents and employees and is a popular spot for residents to welcome guests and enjoy the outdoors. We plan to replace the Wellness Center flooring and various pieces of exercise equipment along with outdoor tables, chairs and umbrellas. As nonprofit organizations, it is our duty and our privilege to update our equipment and furnishings for our residents’ physical needs, comfort and enjoyment. These items provide crucial therapeutic benefits and a lovely, home-like outdoor environment. Please help make this initiative a reality.
