Timely Talk: Model Railroads

Model railroading is a fun hobby for the young, young at heart, men, women, the family, and retirees wanting to relive a childhood interest. This Timely Talk on “Building Steam for Model Railroading as a Hobby” is sure to please those wanting to start a model railroad, broaden a simple track design, learn more about designing and building layouts, expand their existing systems, and know which manufacturers offer the best and most reliable equipment. Norwood Crossing Unveils History Wall Covering 115 Years

One-hundred-and-fifteen years of Norwood Crossing history, depicted on a 24-foot long History Wall, was unveiled in special ceremonies at Norwood Crossing, 6016-20 N. Nina Ave. in Chicago. The 96-square-foot mural features 128 photographs with captions and text, and documents the development of one of the oldest established organizations on Chicago's far northwest side. The wall took 18 months to complete with local historian and former newspaper editor Anne Lunde compiling and arranging the photographs, writing the captions and texts, Stan Banash, Norwood Crossing public relations director, coordinating the project, and Norwood Crossing Board member Jorunn Scheiderich, supervising digital design and production through her company, ABC Printing. The History Wall is located outside the Norwegian Heritage Room on the first floor and is available for viewing during regular business hours or on weekends.
