What is this all about?
A while back, art therapists Tom Lindquist and Kaye Pryor decided they were going to run in the 2010 Chicago Half Marathon on September 12th, 2010. They wanted to find a way to combine their love for running in Chicago with their passion for helping older adults express themselves through the power of art. They decided to run for the residents of Norwood Crossing! In the spirit of a collective soul, Tom and Kaye are seeking generous and thoughtful individuals and organizations (like you) to help support their efforts. ALL proceeds generated through 'The Art of Running for Norwood' campaign will go directly to the Art Therapy program at Norwood Crossing.
Norwood Crossing, a not-for-profit in Chicago's Norwood Park community, is driven by the mission of enhancing the independence and well-being of older adults. The art therapy program at Norwood helps to do that in real and meaningful ways each day. This cutting-edge (and fun!) approach helps older adults reach inside themselves and find their inner artists!
Why Tom and Kaye decided to run?
We are running because the residents of Norwood Crossing are an inspiration to us. The money we raise will help us expand our Expressive Arts program by providing art supplies, creative materials, and new opportunities for the residents. Your donations will allow us to continue as a pioneering program in the field of Expressive Arts Therapy for older adults. This is our way of thanking the residents for their commitment to continuous personal growth.
